Home Remedy for Ear Infections
Home remedy for ear infections is important whether or not you plan to visit your doctor or get prescription for ear infection antibiotics. Garlic oil – This is arguably the most common home remedy for ear infections. It involves heating pieces of garlic in two teaspoons full of mustard oil until it turns black. Simply apply a few drops in your ears before bed every night and in a couple of days you can feel the difference.
Olive oil – Olive oil drops in the ears before sleep. Similar to garlic oil remedy.
Onion juice – A few drops of warm onion juice in each ear is also a good home remedy for ear infections.
Salt – Heat a cup of salt in the microwave for 2-3 minutes and empty it into a clean cotton cloth. Wrap it into a ball and press to the ears. It reduces inflammation.
Hydrogen Peroxide – this home remedy for ear infections involves applying a few drops of 3% hydrogen peroxide into each ear for 8-10 minutes. Note that this can be dangerous for children.
Hot water – this moist air treatment involves dipping a clean cloth into hot water, squeezing out the liquid and pressing the now moistened cloth to each ear. It is another effective home remedy for ear infections.
Green Tea- green tea has commonly been known to have health and healing benefits. Take a green tea bag and seep it in hot water. Once hot, remove the tea bag from the water and apply it to the ear (please be careful to avoid scolding). Place a hot cloth or towel over the tea bag to hold it in place until the tea bag is no longer warm.
